Paxil

Paxil is prescribed for treatment of major depression.

General information
Paxil is a selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor. It is prescribed for treatment of major depression associated with mood disorders, body dysmorphic disorder and anxiety.
Directions
It is recommended to take the medicine as it was prescribed by your doctor. Take it with a glass of water. Swallow pill the whole. Do not exceed your recommended dose.
Precautions
Before starting your treatment with Paxil tell your doctor if you have allergic reaction to it, bipolar confusion, kidney, liver or eye problems. Middle aged people can be more sensitive to the medicine.
Contraindications
Pregnant and breastfeeding women and patients with hypersensitivity to Paxil can't use the medicine.
Possible side effect
Side effects can be the following: quick and irregular pulse, tremor, anxiety, blurred vision, vomiting, fever and diarrhea. Serious side effects are unlikely to occur.
Drug interaction
Paxil can interact with the following medicnes: MAO inhibitors, antiarrhythmics, serotonin-norepinephrine reuptake inhibitors, antipsychotics, H2-receptor antagonists.
Missed dose
Take the missed dose as soon as possible. If it is almost time of the next intake just skip it and go back to your schedule.
Overdose
If you think you have overdosed the medicine seek emergency medical help at once. The overdose symptoms are chest pain, nausea, irregular heartbeat, and feeling light-headed or fainting.
Storage
Store the medicine at room temperature between 68-77 degrees F (20-25 degrees C) away from light and moisture. Keep all drugs away from reach of children and pets.
